Queen’s Head Dig

Thanks to all those who came and helped at the dig, a lovely day and of course a huge thanks to Denise and her team who kept us supplied with tea, coffee and sandwiches, and for letting us lose in her garden! We ended up doing two test pits, with one coming up with some nice bits of possibly medieval pot. We also had our biggest finds tray to date, having to fill up one of our buckets as we ran out of trays for the top layer of the second test pit. More clay pipe stems and various glass bits.

This was possibly our last dig of the season, but we will be back next year and of course we still have various events on the Heritage side of things. Our next one is a WW1 event on the 8th November, so looking for stories, pictures and anything, Wing or not, related to WW1. Look forward to seeing you all there!
